With the ability to fly, sometimes backwards as well as forwards, and grace our world with beautiful color and song, it is not difficult to understand why we have long been enamored of birds and their activities. Photographing birds has its challenges. Bird movements are both fast and unpredictabe. A bird photographer must study each specie's mannerisms to determine when the bird might take flight. Weather, wind speed and direction, lighting, and habitat all play significant roles in determining the success of failure of a good bird photograph.
