About

I grew up in south Florida in the 1950s & 1960s, and moved to the Carolinas in the mid1970s. My wife, Anna, and I enjoy the plentiful activities in the Clemson, South Carolina area, and Clemson University. Having three large lakes, six state parks, a national park, hundreds of waterfalls, the mountains, and the ocean within hours of our house made the decision to move from North Carolina and retire near Clemson University in 2014 an easy one.

I played drums as a youngster, and until 2010 played in bands of various genres. I am still the old guy you see playing dashboard drums while driving my car down the city streets. I also have my pilot’s license and previously flew both single engine airplanes and sailplanes (gliders). I no longer pilot aircraft, but I still love the experience and the freedom that I felt when soaring above the earth in a sailplane. I now experience that freedom through travel and photography when exploring the United States and Canada.

I love being out in nature. The quiet beauty, smell, and relaxing sounds of the streams, the awe-inspiring views of wildlife, and majestic landscapes make me feel alive, and a part of something much bigger than myself. Using my photography to share my experiences with others is just icing on the cake.  I love photography of all types – particularly travel, wildlife, and nature photography, and I always have a great time whenever I am able to go on a photo shoot. I also enjoy being a member of the Carolinas Nature Photographer’s Association, and the Clemson Photo Club.

I am a United States Air Force Veteran, former sworn law enforcement officer, fraud examiner, and certified forensic interviewer, and I have a BBA from Montreat College. I retired in 2002 from my career as a corporate security manager. Retirement has afforded me the joy of traveling with Anna, and I love spending quality time with her. I also enjoy the sporting events at  Clemson University, Our three children and seven grandchildren are like icing on the cake of life. There is nothing more precious to me than faith, and family. I am truly blessed.
